Rajiv Gandhi, Head of MobileComm India is responsible for all wireless engineering activities in India and South East Asia. He has over 20 years of rich and diverse experience in the telecommunication industry, from GSM to UMTS to LTE. Prior to starting his own venture in 2008 he was involved in RF designs, network optimizations and has led teams on international projects for GSM and WCDMA technologies provided by Motorola and Nokia Siemens Networks. Rajiv has worked on Projects around the globe from India to Japan to Canada to UK. Rajiv was involved with the team that made the First GPRS Call in Asia and also first GPRS call in India. In addition to delivering long-lasting and business-creating partnerships, Rajiv leverages his extensive technical background to bring new capabilities and growth to the company’s learning division. Rajiv is an excellent Manager who very strongly believes in Team Work and he has fantastic communication and Presentation skills. Rajiv is a total GIZMO freak. If he is not busy with Telecom you can find him singing. He has done his Engineering in Electronics and Communications from Regional Engineering College Kurukshetra and then went on to complete MBA in marketing from Symbiosis, Pune.

With 30 years of hardcore experience in telecom, prior to founding MobileComm in 2002, he was part of Sr. Management team of Marconi wireless running segment of Cellular network design and Optimization P&L unit. Moved to Mobile Systems International (MSI) Dallas office from their UK headquarter in 1997 as Principal Consultant. He was Country Manager of MSI India where his responsibilities included establishing MSI's consultancy services BU in India and SE Asia.
Gurmeet’s exceptional national and international experience has helped him to act in an advisory capacity to several operators on radio planning, optimisation and assisting at strategic levels for network performance enhancements. He added significant value to the projects through his business knowledge, he has been of critical assistance in providing solutions to business problems to streamline business processes. During his involvement with operators he delivered quantitative quality, capacity and coverage gains giving direct benefits on revenue generation.
Before joining MSI, Gurmeet was with Essar, now Vodaphone, India’s largest cellular operator. He was among the first few who were engaged in designing and bringing up the first cellular networks and witnessed the first commercial cell phone call in India. He was responsible for managing a wide range of telecom engineering tasks to ensure the network deployment with targeted grade of service in Delhi and 4 other States.
Starting his telecom career with Punjab Communications Ltd (PCL) he worked on testing, R&D and implementation of transport Microwave radios. During his tenure in PCL he has been associated in production of transmission equipment, Link planning, installation and commissioning of links in DOT, Indian Railways and public limited networks.
Gurmeet has Electronics Engineering Degree from Nagpur University and Post Graduation from Swindon, UK. He has been professionally trained by Motorola UK, Ericsson Sweden, Hewlett Packard, Alcatel ATFH France, Viewlogic USA, Rotodata UK, Digital Microwave Corporation, Nokia and Swiss Telecom on various telecom products, systems & technologies. Hobbies include photography, travelling and learning new skills.
